At Adraga with love, a unique White is born.
João Corvo in the westernmost vineyard on the European continent.
João Corvo, co-owner of the Mare Et Corvus wine, finds in the word "authentic" the best definition for this white wine tempered by the strong Atlantic winds that enter Portugal through the Sintra coast. It's a wine that does justice to the historic resistance of the Colares wine-growing region.
It is on the Adraga promontory that the Mare Et Corvus vineyard finds its ground. A floor of Malvasia de Colares, an indigenous grape variety, which is joined by the Fernão Pires and Chardonnay varieties. From this combination emerges a golden wine that, with each glass served, adds touches of sea air, iodine, salt and acidity.
"A lot of love, a lot of desire and a lot of tenacity" is the Corvo family's recipe for producing wine from the place where the vineyard is located. To this recipe is added a paternal heritage of great passion for wine, which João Corvo wanted to honor.
"The wine drinks very well on its own - it has an overwhelming personality that surprises even those who have been warned - but it is irresistible to accompany it with oysters, shellfish or fish. Ideally looking at the sky and the sea of Adraga."
João Corvo says with conviction and pride that Colares is a region of "tremendous whites" that go well with everything produced there and, above all, with the sea bream and sea bass caught off the coast.
This wine producer by passion and heritage goes even further, defending not only his wine, but all the whites produced in this region: "the wine from the Colares region is second to none in Portugal".
Mare Et Corvus, for all its authenticity, uniqueness and passion, is a Made in Sintra product.
