Maria Rosa, in the art of decorative ceramics

We certify with the Made in Sintra seal, passionate about such creativity, unique ceramic pieces of a decorative and utilitarian nature, with a strong inspiration in Nature.

Maria Rosa, the artist and creator responsible for the brand and store, grew up in Sintra and her education took place between the António Arroio art school and the Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva Foundation, where she worked for many years in the field of conservation and restoration.

The detail and elegance of the pieces

Some of his tile restoration work was done in the Third Order of São Francisco (Salvador da Baía, Brazil), the Church of Nossa Senhora do Oteiro da Glória (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), the Monks' Room in the Assembly of the Republic (Portugal).

He continues to work on various private projects in the field of faience and tile conservation and restoration.

She started creating ceramic pieces in 2007 at her studio/shop in São Pedro de Sintra - Maria Rosa Cerâmica - where she creates accessories and decorative objects and also does restoration work.

"All my creations are the result of the joy I feel when I observe the simplicity and beauty of small things... I love creating without any intention of perfection... My pieces are the fruit of inspirations, feelings and moments; an organic and sincere testimony of my own sensitivity and relationship with my surroundings.""
- Maria Rosa in "Diving into Deep Water" exhibition catalog

On her website, Maria Rosa has several pieces available for sale and there you can see the good taste and elegance of her work, conceived and executed with obvious passion.

Restoration is the other aspect of Maria Rosa's work. As she herself says: "I have within me, as if it belonged to my DNA, the philosophy that we must preserve and recover the past so that future generations can enjoy our rich history in tiles and earthenware."
